Youth Mentoring Program Overview
Boys to Men, Girls to Women (B2MG2W) is a volunteer-driven program established June 27, 2011 and received its 501(c)3 non-profit status October 26, 2016. We are a partner agency of the Mentoring Center of Central Ohio, an affiliate of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Our mentors:
Must be 18 years of age or older and have reliable transportation.
Provide proof of a valid driver's license and current car insurance.
Have a formal one-on-one interview with Mentoring Committee.
Sign a confidentiality agreement.
Agree to participate in a free background check.
Undergo formal advanced training.
Must be willing to make a one (1) year commitment to the program.
Attend monthly group activities for Mentors and Mentees to fulfill their commitment of meeting four (4) hours per month.
Maintain monthly contact with program Mentoring Committee.
Youth (Mentees)
B2MG2W promotes the development of youth ages 8 - 18 by using positive experiences and influences to help them better handle social pressures. The program's group mentoring forum promotes health, nutrition, positive self-image, social and emotional relationships, educational growth, and community responsibility.
Our mentees:
Parents / Guardians and youth must be willing and interested in joining the program.
Attend monthly group mentoring activities for Mentors and Mentees to fulfill their commitment of meeting four (4) hours per month.
Parents / Guardians periodically are invited to participate in planned B2MG2W activities.
Mentors are assigned to monitor grades, activities, and to provide transportation.
Assigned to mentors based on similar interests.
Mentors will help find and encourage constructive areas of interests.
We pursue our mission through various activities throughout the year.
